Day 1 of Build

Monday 14th July 2025

08:48hr wood loaded onto trolley

wheeled to loading bay

08:50 wood loaded into car

(pushing trolley away with leg when removing wood otherwise the friction rolls the trolley with it)

09:00hr drive to site

walk timber through house to garden

drive to Belsize park to pick up BBQ (for sausages at the Private View)

Take car back to where I can park for free (nowhere near build site)

Bus to Holloway to pick up free backpack

Walk from Holloway to Camden (build site)

Lunch - chicken, mayonnaise and tomato sandwich on toasted sourdough bread

1430hr build commences! Celebratory front double biceps

1500hr Scarf joint to extend lengths of wood

Exterior-grade Gorilla glue

1545hr 3m timber joists

1530hr Batch-cutting wood for uniformity and speed

1753hr securing structure together with 100mm screws (no glue in case structure needs to be altered)

1901hr First barrel ladder structure complete (4 to go)

1910hr tidy away tools

1925hr cold bottle of Sagres beer to celebrate

Tired and euphoric floating around Camden in a vest with a beer in a dream state.

Slept like log.
