Ancient wisdom:
Before you get pissed and ride about in the boat, you've got to make the boat.
Wednesday 6th August morning: boat is made up of 3 subdecks. 3.18m long.
Wednesday 6th August evening: boat has 6 sub-decks. 6.36m long
Peyman put in a massive slog. Andy: boat-maker's assistant
We set sail at 20:35. I put Abba: Dancing Queen on the loudspeakers. Peyman started dancing on the poop deck. A random troupe of young women sang to us from the towpath. That's called spontaeity. People like it.
We trolled along the dark canal listening to music and drinking until 1 in the morning.
I give this outing a 10/10. Pure magic.
I want to take a moment to thank Peyman. We broke our backs yesterday hauling these sub-decks. He is putting in a hell of a lot of time working on this project. We are both absolutely knackered and everyday we ache. Peyman's lower back is injured. Both my biceps are partially torn. But WE CARRY ON!!!
